A Winner Guide to Negotiating How Conversation Gets Deals Done Molly Fletcher 9780071838788 Books
From the first sentence through every chapter, especially my favorite, "Embracing the Pause" Molly Fletcher's book is full of practical advice that she breaks down into very workable segments. In a culture that is non-stop noise and talking, getting sound advice on how to make those silent moments work for you in negotiations, as she outlines in the chapter "embracing the pause" make this a powerful and essential read. In my view, this advice can be practically applied for big and small negotiations of life - from huge multimillion dollar deals, to navigating the high stakes emotionally charged discussions of interpersonal interactions, too.

A Winner Guide to Negotiating How Conversation Gets Deals Done Molly Fletcher 9780071838788 Books Reviews
Lots of self-aggrandisement, lots of self-promotion, lots of name-dropping, lots of success stories (guess she didn't have any failures), lots of rah-rah stuff you probably first heard in high school, all of which dilutes the solid advice she gives. In short, it's just another American-style book with a subtext of the author always appears to be the smartest person in the room.
This book isn't a patch on the books of Herb Cohen so why not read his instead?
Plus, this audio book was read by the author and both she and the topic would've been far better served if she negotiated a deal to pay a pro voice actor to do it.
That would've been win-win for her and her audience.
Written by legendary sports agent, Molly Fletcher, this is a fantastic book with superb teaching, both in terms of negotiating skill-set and how to conduct oneself in a way that adds immense value to everyone involved. The author’s reputation as a wise, ethical, and successful negotiator makes perfect sense as you are taken through numerous situations and see that the principles and values she espouses are also those by which she lives regardless of the the context; whether dealing with prospective and current clients or her own family members. And if you’re a sports fan the book is even more fun because not only is the author an excellent storyteller, you get a close-up look at some of the personalities you’ve only read about or seen on television. There’s such great information in this book, I’d recommend it to anyone who desires to become a master win/win negotiator and - more importantly - a success in the big game…life!

Great book from start to finish!!
One of my favorite books! Molly Fletcher is awesome!
Great book with amazing tips on how to approach negotiation so it is a win-win for both sides. Truly redefines the old definition of "one side wins, cut throat" negotiating to a new "wegotiation" where everybody wins. Love Molly's conversational style and endless tips on "how" to approach relational negotiating. Excellent!
This book was hard to follow, because I'm not into sports, or sports figures and I found it impossible to relate it to the sort of negotiations I'm involved in. It's actually the worst book on negotiation I've ever encountered. I purchased it because of all the positive reviews that seemed like the reviewers must have been reading a different book. I only learned about fakespot.com after the purchase and the F grade explains it - fake reviews. The only thing I learned is that a great title and lots of fake reviews sells books.
